Lay down or sit down comfortably. Close your eyes…..Move your awareness into your head….Relax all muscles in your scalp…..your face.. Let the relaxation flow down in your forehead, eyelids…temples your cheeks, your nose…your jaw…. 

Let go off all the thoughts, concerns, plans or worries    … slowly begin to empty your mind as you follow the sound of my voice and allow yourself to drift and relax with each simple instruction.

Now roll your eyes up slightly….with your eyes closed….as though you were looking toward a point in your forehead. It may feel like a bit of a strain but keep it up. Now, inhale deeply, filling your lungs all the way up as you continue to look up with your eyes closed…Imagine your eyelids grow heavy now….tired…. 1… 2… 3… 4… 5…

And now relax your eyelids… let your eyes relax…..completely… let them rest.

Imagine the relaxation moving and spreading all throughout your face now….. Like a gentle wave of soothing relaxation slowly flowing, relaxing you deeper. 

Now, rest your awareness on your eyelids once again. In a moment you will go even deeper relaxed…. Even though the eyelids are closed down comfortably already, imagine they are even more relaxed, so heavy so sleepy so droopy…almost as if they are glued together.. 

And if you try in just a moment.. If you try to open them.. Imagine as if you are  not be able to do so… When I count to three you will try to open them while keeping them closed. Just play with it, pretend you can’t open them. 

1… 2… 3…

Go ahead… test them , try to open them now…. You can even try to raise your eyebrows, feel that effort trying to open your eyelids and yet keeping them closed.  Feel as if they’re sealing shut. That’s right. Keep them closed, don’t open them…. Now stop trying and relax deeper… no thoughts… just drifting…. Falling… into the state of peace and comfort. Hypnotized now.

Let’s do it again.. 

1… 2… 3…  Try to open your eyelids but you can’t…

Push harder against that relaxation and find  that the harder you try to make the effort to open them…..the more lazy and tired and relaxed those eyelids are becoming right now. That’s right……Now stop trying, let your eyes relax….and again send a wave of relaxation all throughout your face…more relaxed. Doubling the relaxation… Stay right there…  deeper relaxed. 

And one last time…. 

1… 2… 3…

 Try to open your eyelids.. This time you go even deeper relaxed… almost  falling asleep…. And yet awake. The harder you try the deeper you go…. Stop stop trying… let go…. Relax…. Feel each muscle much more relaxed, perhaps even your jaw is dropping a bit, hypnotized now…. 

Now….send that wave of relaxation from the top of your head down to the tips of your toes slowly through each and every muscle in your body, each and every nerve and fiber and cell.

Let all of your muscles turn loose, and limp and wonderfully relaxed… just like a rag doll. Almost unable to move even if you wanted to… Try to lift your legs, imagine they are so heavy… droopy… asleep. Try to lift your arms, imagine you can’t, they are so heavy, droopy relaxed… 

Now that you are physically relaxed.. Lets go ahead and relax your mind even deeper.

In a moment I will begin to count the numbers down backwards from 200… and as I count I invite you to imagine these numbers….Maybe you will see them on the blackboard or whiteboard or some imaginary screen. Or they may simply appear in your mind right in front of you… Trust your unique imagination…..

200 deeper relaxed… 

199 deeper down… way down…. 

198 more and more entranced 197 hypnotized now… 

196 letting go… 

195 trust your imagination t take you deeper now… 

194 way down…

193 so very relaxed in your mind and body…

192 you are doing perfectly fine…   

191 deeper relaxed… 

Now.. count yourself from 190  all the way down and say the words “deeper relaxed” after each number . Count silently with your inner voice, deep within your mind, so only you can hear yourself. And as you count and say the words “deeper relaxed”,  let these numbers slowly disappear…. You will stop when you are ready… the numbers backwards will take you deeper and deeper relaxed. Continue to count now… while I speak in the background…. And let go…. Drift…the numbers will fade away soon. Hear your voice… whatever the number.. Ready to trance form… ready to make changes…

Relaxation doubling… numbers fade away…. Becoming silent within yourself…..comfortably silent…..numbers gone….into nothing nothing nothing…. Stay in this comforting space of deep relaxation. So safe and secure, total calmness in the mind now… total relaxation in the body….
